Neon Diary
Starting in the summer of 2002, we began by
lowering the car with a set of Eibach pro springs to
get the ass end down.  Soon to follow were 17"
Konig wheels, lightweight aluminum under drive
pulley, and Iceman cold air intake.

By the end of the summer a Thermal R&D catback
exhasut was also under the car.

Early in '03 we purchased a wrecked 2002 RT model
neon from neons.org.  This was to be the first (that
we know of) magnum motor swap into a 2nd gen
neon.  With focus being on a complete swap without
any extra electronics to control the RT intake
manifold, which has an RPM dependant actuator to
open a set of butterflies that change intake air flow
for performance gains.

This involved a complete motor swap, including the
computer, ignition, and sentry system.  I also had to
wire in some connections from the fuse box to the
engine harness to activate the manifold actuator.

In the end it worked, and there was much rejoicing.
We then carved up the remnants of the RT for the
scrap yard... in my girlfriend's garage. :D
